Presentations

Researchers at the Lurie Institute have given numerous presentations at academic conferences across the United States and internationally to disseminate their work to fellow scholars in disability, healthcare and policy fields. These presentations include a wide variety of topics related to people with disabilities and their caregivers, including the needs of working mothers with disabilities, reproductive cancer treatments, the financial needs of families raising children with disabilities, inclusive healthcare promotion for people with disabilities, and access and utilization of healthcare among Latino children with disabilities. Like all our research at the Lurie Institute, these presentations address topical issues affecting people with disabilities and their caregivers: racial, ethnic, income and class disparities; the intersections between disability, gender and race; and the particular needs of specific populations with disabilities, like people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and Down Syndrome.
