The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University is renowned for its work around international and domestic health policy; behavioral health; children, youth and families; disabilities; assets and inequalities; and philanthropy. The Lurie Institute draws from Heller's core competencies—social-justice-informed, intellectually rigorous public policy research and analysis—through collaborations across Heller's programs, faculty and students. The research cornerstone of our school comprises six degree programs at the master's and doctoral level. Furthermore, the Lurie Institute offers undergraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships for researchers interested in advancing disability rights and social justice—most recently, we established the Undergraduate Fellowship in Disability Policy for Brandeis undergraduates interested in disability policy. We are also committed to engaging the broader community about disability policy and advocacy. To that end, we provide a number of opportunities to educate the general public about our areas of research. In addition, this year we established the Carrie Buck Distinguished Fellowship for activists, scholars, and community organizers with disabilities whose work draws national attention to systemic ableism in reproductive health policy.
